Why This Women’s Retreat Felt Different: A Private Sound Healing Experience in Vancouver
How long can women keep saying, “I’m fine,” while carrying so much inside?
Women are often the ones holding everything together—careers, businesses, families, relationships and the needs of everyone around them. Even at a retreat, it can take time for the mind to slow down and the body to feel safe enough to rest.
Recently, I was invited by a fitness coach to create a private wellness experience for her women’s retreat in Greater Vancouver. She wanted to offer her guests more than a beautiful gathering. She wanted to give them a meaningful opportunity to pause, reconnect with themselves and simply receive.
Beginning With Reflection
We began with a guided journaling prompt, giving each woman space to reflect on what she had been carrying and what she felt ready to release.
Journaling helped everyone gently turn their attention inward before moving into the meditation and sound healing. There was no pressure to share their answers. The experience was personal, allowing each woman to meet herself exactly where she was.
A Safe Space to Finally Slow Down
After journaling, I led the group through a guided meditation, Reiki and sound healing with crystal singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments.
As the women settled into stillness, the energy of the space began to change. Breathing softened, bodies relaxed and the busyness of the outside world slowly faded away.
During the guided meditation, I noticed two women quietly wiping away tears.
I didn’t need to know their personal stories. Their privacy mattered. But witnessing that moment reminded me how much women can carry beneath the words, “I’m fine.”
Sometimes, women don’t need more advice or another thing added to their to-do list. They need a safe and supportive space where they can stop holding everything together for a little while.
Why Add Sound Healing to a Women’s Retreat?
A private sound healing experience can bring a deeper and more reflective element to a retreat. It gives guests time to move away from everyday distractions and reconnect with their inner world.
Depending on the group’s needs, a customized women’s retreat experience may include:
Guided meditation
Intention setting and journaling
Crystal singing bowls and sound healing
Reiki energy healing
Breathwork and grounding practices
Gentle closing reflection
Every private retreat is different, so I thoughtfully customize the experience around the host’s intention, available time, group size and location.
The session can focus on rest, letting go, self-connection, confidence, transitions or creating space for a new beginning.
More Than Just Another Activity
When planning a retreat, it is easy to fill the schedule with activities. But some of the most meaningful moments happen when guests are given permission to stop doing.
Sound healing, meditation and Reiki can become the quiet heart of a retreat—a space where everything slows down and women can listen to what they need.
Your guests may not remember every detail of the day, but they will remember how the experience made them feel.
